Dennis S. Millburn
Dennis is a product of Seventh-day Adventist education from elementary through college. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business management from Southern Adventist University, formerly Southern Missionary College with a minor in religion. He has obtained a Master’s of Science in Management with emphasis in accounting and personnel management. Dennis has a rich experience of being a student literature evangelist through which he earned his way through academy and college. He has been a boarding academy treasurer, as well as being an assistant/Undertreasurer of Iowa and Florida Conferences. He also has served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Southern New England Conference for seven years and as treasurer of the Gulf States Conference for ten years. He has served as Undertreasurer of the Southern Union Conference since the summer of 2006.
Millburn has worked with pathfinders for years having obtained a Master Guide status along with his wife. He and his wife are avid genealogists which allows them to witness to non-Adventist relatives. Woodworking in his hobby creating and designing furniture and small projects from domestic as well as unusual exotic woods, many of which he and she cut out of their back woods. He enjoys preaching because it allows him to be with the constituents and see grassroots needs in the church. They have had the privilege of conducting two ShareHim evangelistic seminars, one in the country of Panama and the other in Tennessee. He is an elder in his local church preaching and leading out in the worship service.
He is married to Barbara (Bobbie) Platt Millburn, a classmate from academy and a mastered degree nurse working part-time with the Southern Tidings mailing list, and they have one daughter, Marlene, who is a physical therapist and a professionally trained violinist. Marlene is a part-time practicing Physical Therapist and full time mommy and is married to Dave Colburn, a marketing major and professional pianist who is the Treasurer of Bass Memorial Academy. Dave and Marlene have a music ministry. Marlene and Dave have two children, Elliott and Enoch, who are a pride of Dennis & Bobbie.
